I don’t know about you, but I love spending Saturday nights snuggled up with my love and a good film. But with so many streaming services out there, it can sometimes be difficult to know what to choose. So, to help you out, here’s a list of 10 best movies to watch this weekend.
Best Movies To Watch This Weekend
1. Not Okay
Not Okay is a dark comedy about a young woman and the downsides of social media.
Desperate for fame, friendship, and attention, Danni decides to post fake photos of a trip to Paris. When a tragic event happens at the same Parisian landmark she photo-shopped herself into, she is thrust into the media spotlight. With her newfound fame as a survivor, she has the chance to get everything she thinks she wants.
While there are parts of this film that are just so-so, it has one of the best movie endings in recent memory. That alone is worth the watch.

2. I Feel Pretty
If you’re looking for something light and funny, I Feel Pretty is probably one of the best movies to watch this weekend.
When a woman hits her head, she wakes up and sees that she’s become supermodel beautiful. In reality, she’s the only one who can see this life-altering change but suddenly, her life does change due a newfound sense of confidence.
It’s a new spin on the body-switching/magical makeover trope and makes for a really cute and genuine movie.

3. Hustlers
Hustlers centers on a group of former strippers who decide to work together to turn the tables on their wealthy Wall-Street clients.
It’s a Robin Hood-esque tale about taking from the rich to give to the poor. With a dash of added sexiness.
It’s also a really fun and engaging movie about female friendship and loyalty. Plus, J-Lo is amazing in this one.
Watch on Hulu
4. Ingrid Goes West
Ingrid Goes West is another dark comedy about the dangers of social media.
Aubrey Plaza stars as Ingrid, a young woman who decides to move to California after the death of her mother to reinvent herself. To do this, she befriends Taylor, an L.A. socialite and her Instagram obsession.
It’s equal parts unsettling and funny and Aubrey Plaza is downright amazing in it.
Watch on Hulu and Amazon Prime
5. Like Crazy
Like Crazy is one of those films that I genuinely can’t believe wasn’t a bigger hit.
It follows Jacob (Anton Yelchin) and Anna (Felicity Jones), two students who fall in love attending college in L.A. But when Anna violates the terms of her student visa, she’s forced to return to London and the pair struggle to make a newly long-distance relationship work.
This is a beautiful and bittersweet indie film. It’s also another one with a fantastic ending scene and the acting is absolutely amazing.
Watch on Hulu
6. The King of Staten Island
It’s not exactly a secret that I’m a big Pete Davidson fan and this movie proves exactly why.
The King of Staten Island is a semi-autobiographical film starring (and co-written by) Pete Davidson. He plays Scott, an aspiring tattoo artist and dedicated stoner whose father died when he was younger. When his mother starts dating a new man (also a firefighter), he struggles with his changing life and tries to break them up.
It’s heartfelt and funny and shows that even if he’s playing a version of himself, Davidson is a compelling performer.

7. Don’t Look Up
In Don’t Look Up, Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio portray two astronomers who discover an ‘planet-destroying’ comet headed towards Earth. After meeting with the president of the United States who stays surprisingly nonchalant, they bring the news to the media. Finally, their discovery is taken seriously, but since the comet contains rare-elements worth billions, the president decides to mine it instead of destroy it.
A global crisis is then turned into a political statement with public opinion divided in this satirical comedy.

8. Drinking Buddies
One of the absolute best movies to watch this weekend is Drinking Buddies. It’s another one of those woefully underrated indie films.
Jake Johnson and Olivia Wilde portray two friends who work together at a craft brewery. They flirt and frequently hang out together after work and there’s a clear, mutual attraction between them. However, they’re already in relationships with other people.
It’s a slow-burn film about male-female friendships and navigating the complications that can arise.
Watch on Hulu and Amazon Prime
9. Marriage Story
Despite the title, Marriage Story is actually more of a breakup story.
Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver portray a couple in the middle of a divorce. Making things even more difficult, they’re raising a child together and also living on opposite coasts. Since they’re already divorcing at the beginning of the film, we never actually see them in happier times.
Still, this film manages to beautifully capture what ending a marriage feels like.

10. Enough Said
Enough Said is of my absolute favorite rom-coms. It’s romantic and funny, but also poignant and beautiful.
It follows Eva, a divorced mom-of-one who starts dating Albert, a divorcé who also has a teenage daughter preparing for college. Meanwhile, she meets Marianne, a new massage client, and the pair strike up a friendship. Eventually, Eva learns that Marianne is Albert’s ex-wife. She doesn’t tell either one, though, and the more she hears about Albert from Marianne, the more she starts to doubt the relationship.
It’s one of the few great romantic movies about a middle-aged couple and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is absolutely wonderful.
