Yesterday, I got a lovely surprise on Twitter when Simply Alex Jean nominated me for The Aesthete Blogger Award.

What a wonderful thing to see. Honestly, I’m beyond touched. I love writing this blog, but as every content creator knows, there’s always that nagging voice of insecurity wondering if you’re good enough. Being recognized by a fellow member of the blogging community, then, was a much appreciated vote of confidence.

So, once again, thank you Alex!

What is the Aesthete Blogger Award

The Aesthete Blogger Award is a peer-recognized blogging award. Ashmita from The Fictional Journal created it as a way for bloggers to encourage and support one another.

Here’s how Ashmita describes it in her own words:

“This award is to honor every creative person, irrespective of their number of followers and views. Because, as long as you create, that is all that matters. This award is for those bloggers who put an insane amount of thought in each of their posts and for those who spread creativity like wildfire! Just wow!”

The Official Rules:

  • Use the official logo/graphic of the award and display it on your blog.
  • List the rules.
  • Show some love to the one who nominated you! (Simply Alex Jean – thank you!!)
  • Mention the creator (Ashmita of The Fictional Journal) and link back to the original post.
  • Nominate 7 lovely people and notify them by commenting on their posts; spread some love!
  • Ask your nominees four questions.
  • Share something you’ve created!
  • ANSWER THE QUESTIONS:
  1. Tell me something about this world you admire?
  2. What is your favorite form of creativity?

Answers to the Aesthete Blogger Award Questions:

1. Share Something You’ve Created

This honestly could not have come at a better time since I’ve just released my first eBook for this site! Just released, as in November 11th.

Alex – did you nominate me so I could share this? You sneaky, wonderful bitch. 🥰

Anyway, my eBook is called From Heartbreak to Healing in 30 Days and it’s a post-breakup recovery guide and workbook kit.

I’ve been through plenty of my own awful breakups (Brad and Max just to name a few) and I wanted to create something that might help others in that situation.

I’m really proud of this and I’m excited to share it with my readers. You can find it on Payhip and Gumroad.

2. Something About the World You Admire

Art – I don’t know if that’s what this question means, but I really adore artwork and those who can make such beautiful things out of nothing.

3. Favorite Form of Creativity

In terms of what I like to do, writing is at the top of my list. But, outside of that, I love listening to music and watching theater and dance performances.

Answers to Simply Alex Jean’s Questions:

1. WHAT’S ONE THING YOU’D CHANGE ABOUT YOUR BLOG RIGHT NOW? WHY?

Honestly, I wish I could understand more of the tech stuff so I could improve my Domain Authority and Site speed. That’s probably something I wish I could change about myself, though.

2. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FOR CONTENT?

I’m not really sure! Sometimes I just have an idea and I run with it. I guess that’s my ADD showing. I also write a lot about my own personal experiences and reflecting on my past. Finally, if I’m stuck for content ideas, I browse through Pinterest or Twitter to see what jumps out at me.

3. SHARE ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE POSTS AND WHY IT’S A FAVORITE:

This one about going through an awful breakup during Covid.  It was probably the first deeply personal blog post I wrote and the response I got from people really encouraged me to open up more.

Also, this one about the movie, 500 Days of Summer. It was only the second blog post I ever wrote, but I think I did a decent job for being so new!

4. WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER GOTTEN?

When someone shows you who they are, listen. My mom always told me that and I think it’s so true! Plus, it can be applied to anything from relationships to co-workers and so on.

And now, for The Aesthete Blogger Award, I Nominate:

Mind Beauty Simplicity – B is such a lovely blogger. She writes about minimalism, personal growth, blogging, and intentional living.

The Picky Bookworm – A great blog for all your bookish needs!

The Wordy Habitat – Sumedha’s blog is all about books, lifestyle, and blogging.

Smarter and Harder – Sam shares tips on personal growth, health and wellness, and financial freedom.

The Black Princess Diaries – Deandra is lifestyle blogger, podcaster, and overall wonderful person.

That Lemonade Life – Sarah writes about home decor, food books, and holidays. She’s also got a ton of fantastic seasonal bucket lists that I highly suggest you check out.

My Questions:

1 – What’s the best thing that happened to you today?

2 – What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

3 – It’s a Saturday afternoon and you have no plans or obligations – what are you doing?

4 – Are you an introvert or extrovert?

Thanks again to Alex. And thanks for reading! I can’t wait to read my more from my nominees!

xx
Katie

Thank you so much for nominating me! This is so sweet and it’s a new blogger award I’ve never heard of so I love that! I wish I understood the tech side of things more myself. There’s just so much into it so it’s going to take a lot of time for me to get, but we’ll both get it. Congrats on your ebook! ♥
