Happy October everyone! I know some of you probably started with the Halloween decorations last month, but now it’s officially socially acceptable to do so (shots fired – I know! ?)
For bloggers, October marks an important event known as Blogtober, an annual challenge where bloggers who participate aim to publish one blog post a day for the entire month of October. That’s a bit overwhelming for me to even think about, so I won’t be doing it, but I’m excited to see what the blogging community has in store!
And, of course, I’m excited to bring you this months edition of Meet the Advertisers. Make sure to check out these fantastic bloggers this month!
Here are my October Advertisers
Positive Yet Cynical
First up for my October Advertisers is Zoe, the blogger behind Positive, Yet Cynical. Seeing as she’s a huge fan of horror movies, this seems very fitting!
Zoe is in her mid-30’s, a self-described book-work and tattoo enthusiast, and she’s also an open advocate for mental health. When asked about her Myers-Briggs Personality Type, Zoe said she didn’t know it (which kind of blew my mind!) but for those who are interested in the zodiac, she’s a Taurus.
As for her blog, Zoe writes about mental health, adulting, dating life, and books. You can also find some of her own poetry there, so make sure you give that a read.
Life of Morag
Next I have Morag, a Virgo from North Scotland. She’s passionate about traveling and has even visited 38 countries! As someone who has never been outside of North America, I found that very impressive!
She’s also big into photography, hiking, reading, and sharing her story on her blog, Life of Morag. She’s extremely open about her own mental and physical health conditions and you can find tips on managing chronic illness, navigating medical care, and improving your self-care on her blog. You can also find posts on her travels and her home country of Scotland.
Here are some of Morag’s blog posts you should read:
- Please Listen: Disability Advocacy
- Dream Holiday Destinations
- My Bullet Journal Tips and Experience
- Solo Trip to Dundee
- Coping Strategies for Mental Health
And make sure you follow her on social media!
Smarter and Harder
Sam is a personal growth guru who aims to help you improve every aspect of your life, from your finances to your health and happiness. As for his MBTI, Sam is an INTJ, better known as an architect. Architects aren’t exactly known for being warm and fuzzy people, rather, they tend to be dedicated to rationality and logic.
Given that his blog, Smarter & Harder is literally dedicated to exploring how to make your life better with practical tips on money management, achieving your goals, and improving your productivity, this definitely makes sense!
Here are some great posts from Sam you should read:
- There’s Always a Bench – On Rituals
- Why You Really Should Judge People
- 4 Ways Minimalism and Productivity Make Great Friends
And make sure to follow Sam on Twitter – despite his architect-nature, he’s incredibly helpful to fellow bloggers!
Riyah Speaks
Next on my Meet the Advertisers tour is Riyah, a Lifestyle blogger from the U.S. who focuses on self-care, mental health, and positivity.Personality wise, Riyah is an ENFJ – a “protagonist.”
Protagonists are often known for their genuine nature and their desire to create positive change in the world. I think that definitely applies to Riyah. Her blog, Riyah Speaks, with it’s promotion of wellness and happiness, is a clear indicator of that.
This year, Riyah is going to do a mini version of Blogtober by posting 3x a week for the month of October, so make sure you keep her on your radar.
Here are some of my favorite blog posts for you to read:
- 40 Cozy Self-Care Ideas For the Fall
- 4 Top Triggers of Burnout
- 5 Important Tips for Setting Personal Development Goals
Go give her blog a read and check out on social media!
Mummy Conquering Anxiety
And last but certainly not least I have Mummy Conquering Anxiety, a blogger from the UK who writes about mental health and motherhood. She regularly shares personal stories about her own struggles with anxiety in an effort to help others who are going through the same thing.
On her blog, you can find posts on managing anxiety, parenting, family, and writing. She also has seasonal and holiday related posts.
She’s another very brave blogger planning to participate in Blogtober, so make sure you keep an eye out for all her upcoming October posts.
In the meantime, here are some recent blog posts I recommend:

- Why I’m Grateful to be a Writer
